Final Week & Tips

Most of my finals ended before the actual finals schedule so I was able to leave earlier. I asked my friends there if they wanted any of my dorm stuff and snacks, whatever they did not take I brought it to the donation box at the IASP office.

After my last final on December 3rd, I stayed for another week to go to the places that were far away and had not yet been to. I also went to Disneyland again, this time with my local friend who is a seasoned Disneyland goer. So she brought me to all the shows that were good.

My Tips (mostly specific for CUHK)

• You can load your Octopus card in the grocery store on campus

• Choose I-House for your first choice house

  • I put it as my last and it was hard to make exchange student friends to travel with

  • the locals usually keep to themselves

• 1 pack of tidepods/ small bottle of detergent is enough even with 2 washes a week

  • Try share with your roomate if you both don't have

• Pack windbreaking clothes, it gets really cold at night in the late fall and winter

• Don't be afraid to take the bus on your spare time and understand the bus system

  • You can also try out many new food spots on campus!

• Use your student card at your affiliated college for meal discounts and your college may have their events

• Apply for the half off student metro card as soon as the office sends the email out, it saves a LOT of money

• Explore and walk around campus because the bus may not reach all areas

After I left Hong Kong, I spent the remaining time traveling around mainland China.
